Email Hosting — three real choices
Google Workspace · Microsoft 365 · Open-source self-hosted
Most "email people" sell you one option and hope you don't notice. I do three, and I'll be honest about which one fits your business. Pick Google for simplicity, Microsoft if you're already in Office, or self-hosted if you want to own the mail server — you'll get a clean setup, working DNS authentication, and a smooth migration off whatever you're on now.
Pick your stack
Not sure which to pick?
Most teams of 1–10 land on Google Workspace for simplicity. Teams already in Office or Windows-heavy go Microsoft 365. Teams that want to stop paying per seat — or who really care about owning their mail — go open-source. We'll talk it through; you'll get a recommendation, not a sales pitch. And if you change your mind later, I'll move you between them.
How it works
-
Pick
20-minute call. We pick the stack that fits — Google, Microsoft, or open-source.
-
Cut over
I stand it up, configure DNS authentication, migrate mailboxes, and stage clients. We pick the cutover window together.
-
Run
Mail flows, monitoring tells me first if anything looks off. You get a real person on email and a phone number.

Common questions
Can you move me between providers later?
Yes. I've migrated teams from Google → Microsoft, Microsoft → Google, and both → self-hosted (and back). Nothing here is welded shut.
Will my email actually land in inboxes?
Yes — that's most of the work. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC get set up right the first time. For self-hosted mail, IP reputation and warm-up matter too, and I handle that as part of the job.
How much does this cost?
Google and Microsoft per-user pricing is whatever they charge — I don't mark it up. Setup or migration is usually a flat fee. Self-hosted runs flat monthly (mail server + monitoring + backups), and pays for itself fast at scale.
Can you keep my old emails?
Yes. All historical mail is migrated into the new system before cutover.
Ready for email that just works?
Tell me what you're on now and what you wish it did. I'll come back with the right of the three options for you.
